To the amazement of many, and after TWO YEARS of challenges, misunderstanding and confusion, the first CMS Medicare EHR incentives began arriving in May. This followed the first Medicaid incentives that began in January. CMS reports that 40,000 EPs had registered for the Medicare program and 2,000 registered for the Medicaid program by the end of April. Over 10,000 EPs are registering every month.
On May 19th the Medicare incentive program released $75 million in incentives and CMS has begun posting the names of EPs and EHs that have received incentives. They say they will keep the list updated. LSMS has reviewed the list and there are no recipients in Lake County, and in fact, only 22 total recipients in the state of Florida.
